In 2023, Life Projects architects unveiled the Center of Reference for Artisanal Cheese (CRQA) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Spanning an area of 530 m², this cultural hub, designed by Portuguese architect José Lourenço, stands as a testament to the rich culinary heritage surrounding cheese. Immersive Design Inspired by Minas Mountains

The CRQA, nestled in Space 356, Belo Horizonte, is adorned with iron rods, evoking the undulating curves of the Minas mountains. This architectural marvel merges seamlessly with the exhibition space, creating an immersive environment that pays homage to the region’s natural beauty.

A Hub of Culinary Exploration

More than just a showcase, the CRQA is envisioned as a multifaceted space. It houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to Artisanal Cheese, a collaborative store, and a gastronomy-focused library. Additionally, an amphitheater hosts various events, while a social area fosters community engagement. Notably, the center features a complete classroom equipped with a didactic kitchen, facilitating training activities in culture and gastronomy.

Gastronomy-Centric Library

A highlight of the CRQA is its gastronomy-centric library, the first of its kind in Minas Gerais. Boasting a collection of national titles on cuisine, food culture, and culinary research, the library also offers translations of key international gastronomy books, many of which are previously unpublished in Brazil.
